In all of its permutations, b o t (/bät/) is led by an unnamed character who appears perpetually apprehensive and cynical. Being heavily influenced by the contemporary gospel of the late nineties and oughts, b o t ‘s sound lends itself to being a sincere kind of off-centered, but soulful pop.
Kalbells is the solo project of Kalmia Traver (Rubblebucket). The debut album Ten Flowers was released by NNA 2017 and coproduced by Ryan Power. The live ensemble features Sarah Pedinotti (Liptalk, Okkerville River) on bass & vocals, Angelica Bess (Body Language, Erica Eso) on keys and vocals, and Dandy McDowell (Bot, Amen Dunes, Renata Zeiguer) on drums & vocals. Kalbells has toured supporting And The Kids, Lake Street Dive and Chrome Sparks. A second album is currently in the works.
Erica Eso began as the solo avant pop project of Weston Minissali (Cloud Becomes Your Hand,VaVatican) in 2014 during a 2 year stint living in between the Shawangunk and Catskill Mountains in the Hudson Valley, NY. While the songs may appear, at first glance, as basic pop melodies and song structure, that familiarity is used as a pallette to experiment, critique and subtly distort. Last year, Erica Eso expanded to a 5-piece live band to released their acclaimed sophomore album entitled ‘129 Dreamless GMG’ on NNA.
