Andy McLeod is an experimental musician and gardener based out of Fredericksburg, VA. His primary instrument is the acoustic guitar, but he incorporates many instruments into his original tunes, improvisations, and interpretations of the works of others. With quite a bit of work under his belt already, including a record on the estimable Dying For Bad Music label, it will be exciting to see him continue to explore, expand, and refine his already heady sound and approach. In his own words, “Mug Hummies” is a mix of acoustic drone music and fingerstyle guitar adaptations of traditional gospel hymns (with a Hawaiian tune thrown in), with all instrumentation performed and arranged by Andy himself.

Anna Roberts-Gevalt is a multi disciplinary artist working in Brooklyn, moving outwards from her immersion in folk music.

She’s toured the last seven years with her project with ballad singer Elizabeth LaPrelle, playing at the Newport Folk Festival, Big Ears, NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, and Carnegie Hall. Smithsonian Folkways released their third record The Invisible Comes to Us, was heralded by the New Yorker as “a radical expansion of what folk songs are supposed to do.”

She was guest curator of traditional music at the Big Ears Music Festival in Knoxville; and has been a fellow at The MacDowell Colony, Virginia Center for Creative Arts, Berea College Traditional Music Archive, Bang on a Can’s Found Sound Nation.

Recently, she’s performed and collaborated with a wide range of musicians, including Cleek Schrey, Ellen Fullman, Timo Andres, Susan Alcorn, and Grey McMurray.
