Casey Berman is a composer living in Brooklyn, NY. Originally a jazz saxophonist, he now writes ambient music for synthesizers and his computer to play. He seeks to evoke specific scenes in his writing, like film scoring or an accompaniment to TTRPG play would, and capture feelings of empathy, joy, pain, loss, confusion, wonder, and other conflicting emotions through minimalism. He hopes to release this music in two forms later this year – one for listening, and one with longer-form versions for use in DnD campaigns.
Composer, improviser, and visual artist Borey Shin makes synth ballads, ambient music, animations, chamber music, and moody songs. He works with minimal means to create delicately undulating soundscapes using pianos, synthesizers, accordions, and other keyboard instruments. Borey is also an avid performer of varied improvised musics. Tonight, he will be premiering new work for synthesizers and acoustic instruments.
Purse is the brainchild of songwriter/vocalist Carrie Furniss and Priya Carlberg. The music highlights lush vocal harmonies, prog-rock elements and improvisation. They are joined by guitarist Stephe Cooper and drummer Travis Hagan.
