For more than 30 years, Life in a Blender has been the canvas for singer and songwriter Don Rauf”s blackly comic landscapes. Chronogram describes the band as a combination of Magnetic Fields/Soul Coughing/Captain Beefheart/Warren Zevon as “songs chug along through chamber punk and Brit pop with festive side trips to cowpoke, rockabilly, and funk.” Their 10th full-length album is Bent by the Weather, which the Jersey Journal describes as “11 diverse tracks that don’t belong to a genre so much as transcend the concept from the mind of a true American original.” Big Takeover says: “These lifers may be tripping on their best work to date.”
