    Diego Joaquin Ramirez is an Irish-born drummer/composer based in NYC. He has played with many notable artists including Marc Cary, Melanie Charles, Jeremy Pelt, Wayne Tucker, Niwel Tsumbu, Endea Owens, Cyrille Aimee, and Grace Kelly. Diego is an ASCAP Composer Award winner and has performed on world renowned stages such as NPR Tiny Desk, The Blue Note NYC, and The Kennedy Center. In his latest project, Diego leads an exciting 4-piece ensemble with percussionists Marcos Lopez, Marcos Torres, and bassist Tamir Shmerling. Drawing inspiration from both traditional and current sounds of Latin America, Africa, India, and the U.S, this small ensemble delivers an explosive take on groove-based improvisation.
