Matt Bachmann (b. 1988, Chicago) is a musician/composer/songwriter based in New York. Maybe best known for his bass plucking in Mega Bog, the Seattle-New York-anywhere fresh music nest of Erin Birgy, Matt’s also spent time on the road with Hand Habits, Happy You, and iji. Walking Preference is Bachmann’s most recent collection of passionate instrumentals, inhabiting an animated universe inspired by Miyazaki films and Nintendo fantasies — a world both natural and unreal. Air and space have been carefully manufactured. The playful drones and compositions within are full of bubbles and sharp turns while still adhering to the core tenets of Bachmann’s sound— that of beauty and space. Bachmann’s music is more sky than earth. Walking Preference zooms out.

Allegra Krieger is a New York based songwriter and composer. With emotive lyricism and explorative harmony, her songs are at once cathartic and compelling. She will be releasing her second album with Northern Spy Records, “Precious Thing” on March 4th 2022.
At the heart of this album is a young, working woman asking “Do you see this right now? I can’t be the only one.” This is an album about looking, and Krieger fills up each lonely space she enters with her gaze. Krieger asks you to look, to really, really look, so that you can remember something, however small it is, when it’s all gone.”

Katy coats important messages in velvet coated enchanting vocals and wonderful guitar.” -Atwood Mag
In the depths of making her own records, Katy put her savings into refurbishing an 80s 8 track reel to reel and has begun to record herself and friends out of Phil Weinrobe’s lower east side studio. Born in Houston, Texas, her mother sang Linda Ronstadt around the house and her father, a writer, played Leonard Cohen and Dylan. He would say, “you only need a few chords and the truth to write a good song.” But Katy took her time developing her truths and moved to New York for acting, where she found herself in other people’s stories. After working in tv and theatre, she drifted back to herself finding a home in songwriting. She set up her first U.S. solo tour, playing every dive and diy and soon after met her band. Back in Brooklyn, they recorded her debut LP live at Figure 8 Recording. Kind advice sought from Sam Evian and other industry friends has inspired her to learn the art of recording, thus becoming self reliant creatively. She engineered overdubs and mixed the album, leaning into the honest and soulful sounds that inspired her youth and brought her back to herself.
