On Displace, his latest album and first for Ropeadope, the Finnish-born, Brooklyn-based guitarist Olli Hirvonen introduces a highly personal, pathbreaking vision of guitar heroism. Melding jazz, prog, noise-rock, new music and other influences, his playing and composing evoke everything from Pat Metheny and Ralph Towner to Tim Berne, Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine.

Sean Clapis is a guitarist, composer and bandleader born in Hartford, CT to a mother and father who would sing him to sleep every night as a child. After discovering jazz at the Artists Collective and Academy of the Arts, Sean went on to study at the Hartt School of Music under the tutelage of Jackie Mclean, Nat Reeves, Andy LaVerne and many others. After graduating, he moved to New York City, making a name for himself performing with Cyrille Aimée, Steve Davis, Gene Jackson, Warren Wolf, and many others. In 2017, he received 2nd prize at the Jarek Smietana International Jazz Guitar Competition in Krakow as well as the jury prize which afforded him the opportunity to record an album at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London.
